Jackie Rothberg is the creative inspiration at the heart of the Career Action Centre.
Jackie is a Fellow of the Career Development Association of Australia Inc (CDAA), an award that recognises outstanding contribution to the Association and the careers field. Within the CDAA, Jackie has held executive roles at national and state level, including convening the national conference in Melbourne in 2002.
In addition to running the Career Action Centre, Jackie is a Careers Counsellor at one of Melbourne's leading schools.

“I have worked in a career I love for 32 years. My passion is to help others
find the work they love and enjoy, too. I spark and encourage people to find out who they are, what they are good at, and where they can do their best work."

My own career adventure has been filled with variety and challenge.

I have been a careers practitioner in education, community and government, and run a successful private practice that has developed into the Career Action Centre. Before becoming a careers consultant, I was a secondary school teacher in Sydney.

In 1993, I set up the TAFE Course Line for the Department of Education in Victoria, a telephone service that assists thousands of callers every year.

My formal qualifications are a Master of Career Development, B.A., Grad.Dip.Education, and Grad.Dip.Careers. I am also accredited to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and MBTI Expanded Interpretive Report (EIR).

In 1993 I trained in the USA with Richard Nelson Bolles, author of the best-seller careers book “What Color is your Parachute?”

All of this experience plus my work with clients helps me understand the difficulties- and the excitement - involved in initiating and managing career and life change.

My aim is to encourage life-long growth, and to help people who feel stuck or unhappy with their choices to make decisions that can enhance their life.”
